In perfect conditions, a 8kw inverter provides charging power of 6.4kw = 6400 max watts to the batteries with 16 (450w) panels. In the case of  a power outage for example, if the load is drawing 1 kwh per hour, 2 x 5kw (10kw) batteries will last 10 hours.
